Anvil hotel jackson4/17/2023 ![]() I called the front desk three times within the next hour where the phone rang, and rang, and then was sent to music. That evening upon returning to our room, the sink was still plugged, and the water turned lukewarm again. They said they would have someone fix the sink that day and were surprised about the lack of hot water. Three people were working the front, helping with various items in the lobby. The following day I went to the lobby and asked if they could fix the drain in the sink and shared about the lack of hot water. When using the sink the first night, it filled up with water and did not fully drain. Unfortunately, on this visit, both nights, when I went to take a bath, the water was hot for approximately a few minutes and then changed to lukewarm. I love the Anvil Hotel and have stayed multiple times. Maybe there is an investment opportunity here? Buy one of those ranches up the road, turn out the cattle and ponies, throw up a few reasonably priced hotels and restaurants and run Jackson out of business!! I will look at accommodation options outside of The Anvil Hotel, and possibly outside Jackson. Poor dining recommendations, no suggestions on where to go in town or nearby (hint: The most beautiful mountains on the planet are 30 minutes north). It was our first time in Jackson so we asked very open ended questions to see what the must sees are there. Super small, broken glass panes, etc.Īlso, the very young and inexperienced girls (giving them the benefit of a doubt, I hope they were new and improperly trained) were almost negatively helpful during our initial check in. The incredibly scant living space at the Anvil does not get the same forgiveness. Now space is pretty limited, and therefore precious in Japan, so I give them a pass. Our hotel room was roughly the same size as mine in Tochigi (Japan). Let me say this first, The Tetons are the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen and are certainly worth a lvisit at least once! That said, I found Jackson and the Anvil Hotel a little underwhelming. It also was right across from very loud deck construction / remodel that started apx 8:00 am every morning. You could open the window, but it was right on a busy hallway and very loud. The second room we booked was larger but dark and stuffy. Kinda confused, I thought I must have misread the advertised "complimentary happy hour" and blew it off. In fact, one night I asked about it, and someone from the front desk pointed to the Glorietta restaurant and told me "they have drinks over there". They also claimed there was a nightly happy hour in the lobby - which we never saw. There's no coffee in the room, you had to walk to the lobby where someone poured you a cup of drip coffee if you were lucky (one day they said they were out and were brewing another pot which would have been a 15 minute wait). We had to take everything out to be able to use it - which later we saw on our account that we were charged for using the minibar (which we didn't). They said there was a refrigerator in the room, but it was completely stocked with their overpriced minibar and drinks. Our room was small with very little amenities. The hotel and lobby were "cute" - but that was about it. All of the rooms were very far from each other, even though when I booked, I requested we all be close together. ![]() So essentially we booked 3 rooms and spent a decent amount altogether. We also encouraged my brother-in-law to stay there as well. My family booked 2 rooms for 6 nights total at Anvil Hotel in June. Don’t slap on a new coat of dark blue paint, buy a gold curtain rod at home goods and charge me 500 bucks. If you want to upgrade an old motel to a hip new hotel, then do it. There is a fridge, but it is full of overpriced nonsense- want a CBD infused sparkling water? 8 bucks, please. The bathroom toilet lid did not stay up on its own, the bathroom window did not open, and had a very large crack in it. Then they started working at 11pm and all the lights came on. Initially, the wall light and ceiling fan worked. The laminate floor tiles are peeling up at the corners. ![]() The wooden porch outside the rooms is very old and falling apart. Called the front desk and they said, ‘don’t worry about it.’ There were markings about a foot over where the hook had previously been installed. We hung a garment bag from a hook on the wall and it immediately fell out. Probably 150-200 sq ft, equipped with a VERY loud window ac unit. Cheap, poorly done facelift of an old run down motel. ![]()
